KB - (That's Me!) Aesthetics
You wanna know about me...
What can I say that you haven't already heard some where else? I'm a mid twenty year old who lives this great and amazing life at the beach, and I have the best blah blah blah. I could bore you with all that, but what would it matter?
All true artists, whether they know it or not, create from a place of no-mind, from inner stillness. -Eckhart Tolle
Perhaps instead, I could start with my design statement.
Designing started out as a way to keep my creativity flowing through out my lifetime, little did I know it would not only become a passion, but a different way of life. Following the classes and training I have received in Graphic Design, I no longer look at the world the same. Everything has different meaning after becoming a graphic designer. My surroundings have completely changed because of this choice I made in my life and I couldn't be happier to see the world in a different light. Nothing looks the same as it did 4 years ago.... or now, I should say close to 7 years ago, everything has changed for the better, and I could not be more excited to experience my environment in a new way.
Design is art, just in a different form. Just as poetry is art with words, and music is art with sound, I consider Graphic Design to be art with megabytes or pixels. To define the word "art" would take hours. It has so many different meanings to different people, to simply label it with one definition would be wrong. But since we're on the subject, Webster considers it to be: a skill acquired by experience, study or observation. Art to me, is beauty encompassed into pictures or thoughts and feelings incorporated into visual senses. It could be a lifestyle or a hobby, either way it is a means of individual expression that if drastic or moving enough, can change a life. If in my lifetime, I change one person's vision of art, or better yet, change their life, I can die happy.
There is no perfect way to describe what we, as "artists" do. There are no words, sentences or books that could explain what our job or passion entitles. There is no way to label our duties or goals as an artist. If in my time here on earth, I can figure out just where I want to reach as an artist or designer than I will consider my life to be complete. In the meantime, I am here to learn and absorb anything I can that will further my experience and my life as a person, and better yet, as an artist.
Ok... If you have made it this far... I am impressed, and you must be bored! Would it be easier if I just told you what I was interested in, and what you might find here on this site...? Photography, paintings, design, logos, brands, ideas, instagrams, my innermost, deepest darkest secrets.... just kidding.
